    Quiet Amidst Noisy Waves...

Long has this reflection simply lay in my lil' book of writing, well no longer... Tis' a realization that arose as I sat, feet drenched on that rock, over looking the beauteous lake...

To survey the amazing wonder of Your all embracing love...
Tears of joy ushered in, on the wings of  a dove.
    A warmness instilled within,
a heart that now seeks nothing.
    Forever content,
    never in contempt...

Can words do justice to these feelings of euphoria?
Will canvas properly display emotions on fire?
The waves come, the waves go,
but I continue to bellow and shout out, with all of my being,
(With all eyes unseeing and all eyes unseen)
    O,What you mean to me...

The solid rock on which I stand,
not an idol made of sand.
The mighty King who reigns on high,
by Whom all of creation does abide.
No Lord, not some slippery slide,
Your mercy and grace remains ever-flowing,
I lift my eyes from jagged rock,
to see you oh Lord, never slowing...

Life is noise and massive array,
You are the quiet one, oh here to stay.
Stay with me, Lord, stay with me,
forever yours I want to be.
More than life you are to me,
What else in this world is there to see.

If I could forever love You Lord, I would,
So this I pray so that I should,
    ever walk in upstanding faith,
    forever withstanding every fate.
Nothing has ever held back Your grace,
not even boulders stand up to water's pace.

I can't imagine Your love for me,
it strips away my life of sin.
I'm left bare Lord, to naked spray,
can man's deceptive joy ever keep you away...

(ha,) It's time to go Lord, for I am late,
but I know You go with me, even to date.

Twas' a conservation never-ending, did you listen friend, for the answers within? For when your Father is one of wonder all is answered on a lil' reflection...

    Before Quiet Amidst Noisy Waves

The pen is awoken, the writer refreshed... to summit I went and down not to come... haven't posted in a bit it seems, but I never stopped writing... I had a lil' conversation with the Big Guy upstairs right next to the waves during my quiet time at Summit... If you haven't been to summit, go! Regret it you will not...

A lil' story before the usual poem... so I walked and walked far down the water-side, far from civilisation it seemed to me... I spotted a high and dry spot. The path to it was precarious, strewn with dangers; slippery and entangling... but I, as ever was persistent till the end... My mountain conquered, the route back down not-at-all inviting, I perched on my rock with joyous content... And then I issued a challenge to the waves below me; "Do your worst!" I cried out at full volume... waves crashed and slashed at boulders below but none could reach my seat thus high... But in the horizon did I see a wave approaching with speed enormous and arms wide, yet faraway it was and surely it would lose momentum before ever reaching the base of my fort... it came closer and nearer and closer still and just as I thought, weakened in its onslaught... but wait what's this?!... from nowhere it seemed... a second wave gave some addition... so crest on crest, trough in trough they hurried onwards, now together a freak-of-nature... with frightening ferocity this con-joined entity slammed into the unwary rocks making, my friends, oh such a huge splash... my mouth aghast, my eyes widened, the flurry had drenched my jeans and shoes, my "safe" spot now perilous... my issued challenge had been met, matched and well... sunk...

God spoke and it was done... mountains and streams, flowers and trees, birds and lillies and three bright beetles... in perfect harmony do they scream out his fame, even the seemingly inanimate has a story to tell... man was given control over these, but in the end, the Lord's Word rings true...

And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. - Gen. 1.3

Ok so maybe my lil' story wasn't quite so little... mostly adjectives I must frankly say .  My poem, I guess, will another day wait... till then, this has been a tale of a lil' reflection...

A sun which doth not set...

"Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed Thy strength unto this generation, and Thy power to every one that is to come." Psalm 71:18. I woke up to these words, seeing through blurry eyes the psalmist's plea for a futherance of the knowledge of God's glory in the land, unrestricted by age, knowing well that his strength lieth with the Lord... So I cease to tug at the single silver strand shimmering in the midst of my amply blessed hair... Thankful for another day, month, year to give glory unto my God and proclaim his goodness to the ends of the earth... His work doth not cease even when man does... "Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended"(Isaiah 60:20).... even as - in a mirror - thou beholds a lil' reflection...
